Walmart Canada recently announced it has committed to purchasing a total of 2.5 million pounds of beef sourced from certified sustainable Canadian farms and ranches, according to standards set by the Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (CRSB). That’s an additional 1 million pounds of beef, adding to the 1.5 million pounds announced in October 2021.
In May 2021, Walmart Canada became the first retailer in Canada to offer an on-pack CRSB Certified claim in a line of beef products. 100% of the company’s fresh beef is sourced in Canada.
