COLD fronts at the start and the end of the week brought rain to southern and eastern Australia, while persistent moist onshore flow resulted in heavy rainfall over central parts of the Queensland coast late in the week.
Weekly rainfall totals of around 50 to 100 mm were recorded over elevated areas in eastern Victoria, over western Tasmania and along the Cairns and Cooktown coasts of Queensland.
