Roma sale 21 Feb 2023: Young cattle prices stabilise

Most were drawn from the usual supply areas plus 440 head from New South Wales.

A large panel of buyers was present and operating.

Despite large numbers for the last two weeks prices tended to stabilise and improve slightly for most classes of young cattle pushed on by some additional support from Western restockers.

Export lines of heavy grown steers bullocks and cows lost 5c to 8c/kg. Light weight yearling steers under 200kg made to 632c to average 599c/kg. Yearling steers 200 to 280kg returning to the paddock made to 600c with a good sample averaging…
