Roma sale 7 Mar 2023: Yearling steers firm to dearer

Overall quality was good on steers but mixed on heifers, with most cattle sourced from local areas.

Additional buyer support from the Central Highlands and Western Queensland helped keep prices firm to slightly dearer on yearling steers however quality and prices reduced for yearling heifers.

Grown steers and heifers to the processor were firm while medium primes cows eased by 10c/kg. Light weight restocker steers saw an improvement of 15c selling to 536.2c to average 483c and steers 280 to 330kg sold to a similar trend lifting 17c to a top of 512.2c averaging…
