Weekly rainfall update + rainfall outlook 17 May 2023

A high pressure system directed onshore flow to the east coast, producing showers for coastal and some inland parts of New South Wales and Queensland.

Cold fronts impacted parts of southern Australia during the week bringing gusty winds and showers to Western Australia, Tasmania and Victoria.

Weekly totals between 25 and 50 mm were recorded on the coast in parts of Western Australia and northern New South Wales and in western Tasmania.

Parts of the Queensland coast also recorded weekly totals between 25 and 50 mm, but locally much higher totals due to onshore airflow.
