Carbon gamechanger with govt to make first large-scale issuance of soil credits

THE Federal Government is expected to make its first-ever large-scale issuance of soil carbon credits today, with the first of a group of four carbon projects successfully making it through the regulatory process.

Run by specialist soil carbon service provider Carbon Link, the four projects are expected to generate 250,000 Australian Carbon Credit Units. Based on the price of ACCUs, which has been hovering around $35 most of this year – the credits will be worth more than $8m.
