Drought streak marches toward two years

The recording-setting length of U.S. drought continues to expand, with more than 40% of the country in drought, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture meteorologist Brad Rippey. The current drought period has nearly reached a two-year mark at 93 consecutive weeks.
