Australian cattle exports edged higher from August to September, but remained around 38 percent below the five year average for the month, according to the latest data released from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
Australia exported 47,588 cattle in September, slightly up on the 44,907 head exported in August.
Exports to Indonesia totalled 28,754 head, an increase on the 21,697 head shipped in August, but 30pc down on the five-year monthly average for September.
