Statistics show around 70 per cent of serious incidents involving both heavy and light vehicles are at the fault of the light vehicle driver.
That’s according to National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) CEO Sal Petroccitto, who is reminding road users to give agricultural vehicles extra space on the road, as part of National Farm Safety Week.
The annual initiative is dedicated to raising awareness of farm safety issues in rural communities across Australia, and has a theme in 2023 of ‘Stay on the safe side’
