Mr Merrit said the organic, carbon-based fertiliser pellet is a first of its kind in Australia, and the chief ingredient was manure generated at Mort and Co feedlots, which was surplus to farming needs. The company’s Grassdale feedlot can hold 80,000 head. That turnover of cattle can generate a significant amount of raw material for the new pellet process.
