Roma sale 22 Aug 2023: Market softens for 6156 head

Yarding 6156 Change +1849

Cattle were drawn from Western Queensland , NSW and the local area.

All regular processors were in attendance and operating as well as feedlotters and restockers.

The market did show signs of softening, however the feeder operators and restockers were more competitive on the better bred quality lines of steers and heifers.

Manufacturing grades were in the larger numbers.

Cows could not maintain the levels of last sale.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 309c and sold to 352c/kg. Yearling steers 200 to 280kg made to 352c to average…
