Roma sale 23 May 2023: Numbers lift as pasture declines

The declining quality of the pasture and vendors choosing to wean straight into the saleyards along with preg tested empty cows lifted numbers by 2,250 head to 7,161 at Roma. Cattle were drawn from NSW, far western Qld and the local supply area. All the usual buyers attended and were active on the better quality lines with the plainer types still receiving limited competition. Yearling steers to restockers could not maintain last weeks prices and lost 5c to 20c/kg with heavy feeders the least affected.Yearling heifers followed the trend of other sale centres…
