Weekly rainfall update + rainfall outlook 1 Mar 2023

Storms and heavy rain occurred across the northern tropics throughout the week, with weekly totals of 150 to 300 mm from the eastern Kimberley (Western Australia), through the Northern Territory Top End and the Cape York Peninsula (Queensland).

Local weekly totals over 400 mm occurred in the Daintree (Queensland) and the Daly district (Northern Territory) resulting in Minor to Moderate flooding.

The highest weekly total at a Bureau gauge was 479.4 mm at Whyanbeel Valley (Daintree, Queensland) including the highest daily total of 235.0 mm to 9am on the 26th.
