INCREASED humidity due to easterly airflow combined with surface low pressure troughs produced showers and thunderstorms across parts of eastern Australia during the week.
From mid-week, widespread showers and thunderstorms impacted Western Australia and the Northern Territory, while a weak cold front moved over southern Australia.
Weekly totals greater than 50 mm were recorded in northern parts of the Northern Territory, north-western Queensland and northern and central Western Australia.
