A SERIES of low pressure systems and surface troughs brought thunderstorms and moderate to heavy rainfall to large parts of southern, central and eastern Australia during the week.
Weekly rainfall totals above 50 mm, with isolated totals over 100 mm, were recorded in parts of south-eastern New South Wales, and in most of Tasmania and eastern Victoria.
Weekly rainfall totals above 50 mm were also recorded in coastal parts of southern Western Australia, east-central Queensland, and in pockets of central South Australia and the eastern and southern Northern Territory.
