SEVERE thunderstorms and showers across much of eastern Australia continued throughout the week due to a slow-moving surface and upper troughs combined with a humid airmass.
The heaviest rainfall was recorded across South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria with a number of locations setting new records for both their wettest November day and their wettest day for any month.
A low pressure trough over south-eastern Queensland generated wind, thunderstorms and rain, which continued to the weekend.
